Is Fairline free?
Today everything is free. The learn articles, the accuracy page, and this FAQ are open to everyone, and the dashboard, game pages, and tools sit behind a free account, which also unlocks logging and tracking your own bets.
What sports does Fairline cover?
Fairline publishes quantitative projection models for MLB, NHL, and the English Premier League. A separate line-shopping screen adds NBA, WNBA, and other leagues without showing a model.
How the models workHow often are projections updated?
A full pipeline runs several times a day per sport, and a background worker refreshes live sportsbook odds continuously before each game. Projections freeze once lineups and starters are confirmed. From that point only the market prices can change.
How value detection worksDoes Fairline use sportsbook lines to build its projections?
No. Every model is built from public statistics and computed before any book odds are fetched. Book prices are pulled separately, after the projection, only to compare against the model's fair odds. The projection always stands as an independent opinion.
How value detection worksAre these picks? Am I guaranteed to win?
No. Fairline publishes statistical estimates and labeled fair odds for comparison. Betting carries real risk, results swing widely over small samples, and you should only bet what you can afford to lose. If gambling is a problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
Why results swingWhat do "fair odds" mean?
Fair odds are the price at which a bet breaks even over the long run given the probability from the labeled reference. Game pages show that reference alongside current book prices for neutral line shopping, not as a recommendation.
How fair odds are calculatedHow accurate are the models?
The accuracy page publishes live graded calibration for MLB, NHL, and EPL, plus a fixed MLB benchmark against the Pinnacle closing line. Each model page documents its framework and parameters.
See the accuracy pageCan I track my own bets?
Yes. You can log a bet with one click, which pins the exact price shown at that moment. My Bets and History compute your record and closing line value from there. It needs a free account.
What closing line value isCan Fairline evaluate a specific bet I'm about to place?
Yes. The Evaluate tool takes any game, market, and side (or a price you type in from any book) and returns the no-vig fair price labelled by its source, the vig you are paying, the edge (which can be negative), a fractional-Kelly stake, and the model baseline when that sport exposes one. One tap logs the bet so your closing line value is tracked. It needs a free account.
How to price any betDoes Fairline work with Kalshi?
Yes, two ways. Kalshi can appear as a priced source when it lists a matching market. The finder works out the most a resting limit order is worth paying against the sharp line after maker fees, with the exact price to post and a link to the contract. Fairline places nothing on your behalf and a fill is never promised. It needs a free account.
Kalshi vs sportsbooksHow do I find where the model disagrees with the price?
Open a model-sport game from the dashboard. Its detail page shows current book prices beside the Pinnacle no-vig reference when available and labels the model baseline separately. The Evaluate tool prices one specific bet against its labeled market reference and includes the model baseline when that sport exposes one. Members can also opt into email alerts for the games they care about. It needs a free account.
Do I need an account?
The learn articles, the accuracy page, and this FAQ need no account. The dashboard, game pages, and tools need a free account, and logging and tracking your own bets happens there. Today none of it requires payment.
Who is behind Fairline?
Fairline is an independent project built and run by a single developer. It is not affiliated with any sportsbook, league, or data provider.
Can I use Fairline inside Claude or another AI assistant?
Yes. Fairline ships a remote MCP connector. Add it as a custom connector on claude.ai (it syncs to the Claude mobile and desktop apps), sign in with your Fairline account, and your assistant can shop lines across books, check the sharp no-vig anchor, evaluate a price you were offered, and log bets to your bet log. It needs a free account.
